@thedaemon this is my go-to game whenever I make a new OS install. I always install #Xorg + #ChocolateDoom and do a full #Heretic run on #TWM. Once I'm done with D'Sparil, I proceed to do the rest of the installation and configuration. I call it the " #Heretic seal of approval".

Still have a sealed copy of the game!

Quick guide to which #Doom engines to choose depending on your gaming tastes:

- Classic gameplay, just like '93 (horizontal movement, no jumping, no crosshair)? -> #chocolatedoom
- Enhanced gameplay, looking like modern FPSes (jump, crouch, gravity, full mouselook)? -> #zdoom (and it's recent fork #gzdoom)
- Same, but with a focus on multiplayer instead (bots or people)? -> #zandronum

Now combine it with your favorite WAD (FreeDOOM good, but many more available out there) and frag away!

Debating if I should even bother with adding multilib since this machine probably doesn't have enough juice to run any of the games I purchased. Thought maybe Black Mesa but I doubt it. Even my HP ProBook which is newer than the Dell has to be set to lowest settings to make it playable, so I think I'm going to leave it 64-bit only. Besides, I can play FOSS games and retrogames using FOSS source ports like #ChocolateDoom and #QuakeSpasm / #DarkPlaces.

Gah! C2M9 in FreeDOOM keeps doing this. I tried walking backwards into the room that caused it and that sort of worked until I did a 180. Then BAM! #chocolatedoom

@fraggle Any idea how to get past this? I already set to ignore limits in chocolate-doom-setup. 🤷‍♂️
