Accidentally locked one of the #chooks out and she spent rather a damp night under a piece of canvas. I got a mouthful @#$@!! when I went out this morning.

Lucy (left) is the broodiest of hens - four times since April.
Doris (right), an actual working hen, is on the nest to lay an egg, which lazy slacker Lucy will steal and put under herself.
Always an interesting exercise getting the stolen eggs from under Lucy.

But if you’re going to get chickens, get at least two. They’re like guinea pigs, very social – even to me. They’ll talk to me, so I make sure I talk back! 😂🐓
