I'm in the cis/het/old/white/guy club (& married since 87/no kids) but I like it here and I think *maybe* it's because cis/het/old/white/guy club members are not a lot of fun to be around ...
And no, no idea what is wrong with US Tech Pundits. I really only follow one and he's here (hi @will :waves:) and he's not like that. Probably a pimping-my-podcast-for-clicks thing for those others.

I have an IC-705. 160 m through 0.7 m (no 1.25m - boo!). D-STAR, touch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth yada yada. I ask on the 705 IO grp if anyone has played w/Doozy (https://www.pa7lim.nl/doozy/) and it *rapidly* devolves to:
``Personally I think ham radio is all about the ionosphere, antennas, etc and not the internet or short range VHF.
Oh what fun in the 50’s. Still doing the same. :)''
I have yet to read all of @MW1CFN posts on #RSGB or @jj1bdx posts on #JARL but I have book-marked them. I think I am safe in assuming that #ARRL & RSGB (& #AMSAT-NA) all suffer from #CHOWG ... but JARL can't suffer from that given that OWG is "old white guy". So it's more generational than tied to race tho' I'm sure the gender part is accurate.
Need to start over, methinks.
And, for the record, I *am* a #CHOWG ... I just don't much care to hang out w/others of my kind!
#chowg #amsat #arrl #jarl #rsgb
Sat out per reasonable instructions (I am #CHOWG) but when I see that sort of thing I think, for the 3rd check-box "How many of your leaders DO NOT look like me?"
@va3db @wd9ewk @DO2SGF It was only a glimmer, though. Eventually the non-#CHOWG was beaten down. I ended my rotating editorship of ANS & didn't renew my AMSAT-NA membership. I always use the NA to differentiate that bunch from the other AMSATs.
I've also not made a #hamsat QSO since, either, which is not a good thing. I just don't want to be reminded of their existence by hearing certain callsigns. Once we get settled north of the Medicine Line (later this year), that will change.
