A colleague sent me this postcard from a #Berlin #Jewish #Museum exhibition of 2005:

Nowadays we are used to these humorous interfaith multicultural #mashups, but this one had a serious purpose. Entitled, "Darwinian," it appeared in the #Zionist #periodical, "Schlemiel'," 1904. At a time when rates of conversion (1/1100; in Berlin, 1/650) & intermarriage was high (15%; 44% by the time of the Nazi seizure of power in 1933), it was a critique of assimilation.
