Just finished reading the graphic novel The Tryout by Christina Soontornvat, illustrated by Joanna Cacao. It's the story of a Thai American girl in a small town in Texas trying out for the cheerleading squad. It's about friendship, bravery, racism, othering, and who gets to belong. I liked it a lot and now I want to read more graphic novels by Christina Soontornvat.
