A favorite Hungarian Christmas tradition is hanging Christmas candy, or 'szaloncukor' on the tree as decoration. Every family has their own rules when the candy can be eaten. In my family we'd eat the candy throughout the season, leave and shape the candy wrapper back into its original form, so you can trick the next person into thinking there's a candy in it!
