Based on children's stories, these are shown around this season throughout the UK (all with different scripts around traditional stories). If you aare not in the UK, these are worth watching - for their silliness, and some jokes that are definitely aimed at the parents. This is Aladdin.
For those not in UK, Principal boy always played by a woman, the Dame(s) by a man.

Pantomime is a great British tradition. Most professional pantomimes start on Boxing day. They are usually based on a childrens story. Cinderella, Aladdin, Jack & the Beanstalk, etc.
