Still on Christmas Island, this collection of bright red flowers is from a Royal Poinciana tree (delonix regia). This one was taken near some abandoned buildings (possibly former military barracks) on the island. January 2009

In a previous job I got to go to Christmas Island (the Indian Ocean one vs the Pacific Ocean one) twice. This photo is from my second trip in 2009. It's a bonzai of adenium obesum (I had no idea before today) near one of the Buddhist shrines on the island.
