This is the skirt of the #ChristmasMaxi
Still needs the hem completed, still needs attaching to the bodice, and the lining. It's about a 3/4 circle, with a 5 metre plus hem circumference. Nicely swooshy.
Penultimate stage of doing a bias-faced hem. Turn the bias tape to the inside, press into place, pin. Then hand-stitch into place. #Sewist #ChristmasMaxi
And now we go for #ChaoticEvil hem finishing, attaching bias tape without pinning it first! I like bias faced hems, give a nice clean finish on dress/skirt hems. #ChristmasMaxi
#ChristmasMaxi assembly update:
Centre back piece of skirt is inspired by late #Victorian walking skirts, wide fabric gathered down to give centre back fullness.
This gives an example pattern https://thefoldline.com/product/209-walking-skirt/
Completed bodice of the #ChristmasMaxi
Skirt is full, multi-panelled (to come).

@TheADHDHobbyist my upcoming makes should fit that tag :-)
They will be tagged with #ChristmasMaxi and #LeafMaxi.
If you have #Instagram, look up #DinosaurMaxi for a previous example.

Next #sewing project, my #ChristmasMaxi, from some fabric I bought for LAST Christmas! I need to make this up before I can make the #LeafMaxi, because it uses a lot of the same pattern pieces.
