We've always been intrigued, since arriving here in Aus 23yrs ago, that Aussies don't take their Xmas decorations down by Twelfth Night (ie 5th Jan)

In UK, tradition says that if your decorations are up on 6th Jan still, ie Epiphany, it'll herald in bad luck for that year.

I have failed, and failed miserably.

Due to the overwhelming nature of The Season, and travel, and brain stuff, and work, I left it until today to go looking for discounted Christmas treats.

Most are already gone. The shelves are filling with Easter.

No dirt cheap Lindor and Lebkuchen for me; I have to make do with unwanted Smarties and weird variations on Quality Street.

ALL IS WOE.

Another personal Christmas tradition: the walk up to the local castle. I used to do this every Christmas Day before lunch, back when Dad took charge of everything, but since Dad became ill and died we've all had to do more of the dinner prep.

So I now go whenever seems good. And the weather was lovely this morning.

Plus, I saw sheep, horses and alpacas. All living in perfect harmony. Let that be a lesson for us all.

Managed to finally go for a walk, much later than hoped. But it's a very pleasant evening here in North Wales.

Also fulfilled my personal Christmas tradition of watching The Wrong Trousers whenever I can get a half hour to myself. It's a tradition which I wholly recommend, not least because The Wrong Trousers is the most perfect thirty minutes ever committed to film.
