We can hope it's disproved, but ignoring it will leave us headed in the direction of disaster: debilitating, chronic, irreversible health conditions — or what some are calling a "mass-disabling event."

All of that. It is quite obvious that the new federal office on #chronicCOVID, if it cared about preventing the problem, would fund monitoring at every wastewater treatment plant in the country. I doubt it would even be that expensive. Especially not when seen against the humans & human energies it would save.

3) There should be a separate agency set up just for COVID, with a very specific long-term mission defined in statute, & independent leadership, like the Federal Reserve, so that it can't be interfered with by political appointees at CDC.

It should coordinate federal research funding, especially into #ChronicCOVID treatments & into vaccination & PH measures.

Wastewater monitoring should be federally funded in every place that has a wastewater treatment plant.

Not to my knowledge. Though I had to stop following him or engaging with him because I learned it was an enormous waste of my time, and with #ChronicCovid, I have had to be more careful about that. He simply ignores inconvenient truths, like many “smartest Guys in the room.”

I'm empathetic & sensitive, & it's hard to block out the real consequences of abandonment of so many, particularly of our kids' future health struggles. It's like having every ounce of blood squeezed from my heart. I have depression, isolation & avoidance. Most days I can't bear an honest conversation even with friends about my life. This has important implications & consequences for us humans, both as a society and as individuals, esp wrt COVID.

The virus causes damage to the heart/cardiovascular system, like palpitations & forms of tachycardia, & that has surely already caused millions of us to experience anxiety/depression.

There has already been massive profiteering from #COVID19 minimizers who dispensed snake oil for the acute phase (one ivermectin case just hit the courts). If one wants to prevent harm/profiteering in #LongCOVID, then one should not downplay its existence as a #nosological entity. Using the term along with the formal #PASC or even #ChronicCovid may be the price to pay for the long phase of the COVID19 disease to be viewed as a disease entity, with features distinct from the acute phase.
