Absolutely. Tolkien and Leiber both equally influenced me when I started gaming, also the sadly much neglected and quite excellent #ChroniclesOfPrydain by #LloydAlexander, as well as #DavidEddings and #ThomasCovenantTheUnbeliever by #StephenDonaldson.
Leiber‘s #Lankhmar and Asprins Sanctuary were definitely the grittiest of the bunch, though.

Incidentally, as a Player I played a Midgard homebrew years ago and instantly recognized it as based on a Leiber Story. Much fun was had.
