From a Baltimore Sun interview with the Bishop-elect for the #Episcopal Diocese of Maryland… not to be too picky, but it was in the pandemic that the bishop and the presiding bishop said put that cup away… and lock those church doors… and while we have a robust and flourishing Thursday compline (AThA or around 18-23), the vast majority of congregants either come on Sunday or stay home. The bishops and priests don’t seem to be able to drum up much virtual enthusiasm… #OnlineChurch #ChurchOnline

I started going to my previous #Episcopal Church when I was about 5 y.o. so roughly 65 years there. I used to work on the #Cornell campus and drove by St. Thomas for 10 or 12 years, attending a service or 2 there, but it was time for a change, as painful as that might be. The charism of the old place did a 180, and it was time to take those gifts to other places… to a place witout full time or even part time clergy.
