Just a follow-up toot re Janina Kalinowska and her #daughters. All 3 girls were born in #Ciechanów. The first was born in 1914 when the city was in Congress #poland in the #russianempire. The second was born in 1917 when the city was in the Regency #Kingdom, a puppet client of #Germany & #Austria. The third was born in 1919 after the creation of the Second #polish #republic. It’s crazy how many times the #government of Poland changed in just 5 years. #Genealogy #geneadons #History #histodons

Tonight’s #genealogy focused on two people. The first, Szczepan Gieryszewski, was a first #cousin 2X removed. He lived for 21 months in 1858-59 in #Ciechanów in the #Płock Governorate of Congress #poland. The second, Janina Kalinowska (1887-1957) was a distant in-law. In 1913, she married Jan Buraczyński; they had 3 #daughters that I know of. She also lived in Ciechanów. I gathered the documentation and attached it to their pages. I’ll translate at a later date. #geneadons #familyhistory

The other night, I translated the #birth record of Józefa Boniakowska (1882-83), the #stepdaughter of a distant relative. I downloaded it from #Geneteka #poland. It is drawn from the #parish records of #Ciechanów and is written in pre-revolutionary #russian. The #translation is in the alt-text. #Genealogy #geneadons #Ancestry #familyhistory

Sometimes it pays to #read. I had a #birth record for “Marcel” Miliwodzki, b. Jan 1858. Then the trail ran cold. Upon reading the #parish journal entry, I learned the child’s name was ANTONI Marcel Miliwodzki. This small fact was overlooked in the #Geneteka #Poland database. So the full record for Antoni is Jan 1858 - Feb 1860, #Ciechanów then in the #Płock Governorate of #CongressPoland. Good to know for the #future. #Genealogy #geneadons #Ancestry #familyhistory

It’s still early evening here in metro #nyc but I’ve already completed initial #research on a first #cousin twice removed, Jan Czarnecki (5 May-13 Aug 1882). He was born and died in #Ciechanów, then in the #Płock Governorate of #CongressPoland in the #russianempire (today in Ciechanów County in the #Masovian #Voivodeship ). The records were beautifully written in #russian script, making for easy reading. It appears as though my #greatgrandfather reported Jan’s death to the registrar.

Two quick items:
1) Went outside a while ago to pick up a package. The #smoke from the #canadianwildfires was thick in the air. I thought for a second the house was on fire.
2) It was a #genealogy night. I secured the birth-death dates of Marianna Gieryszewska (Nov 1856-Feb 1857), a first cousin twice removed. She lived in #Ciechanów, Congress #poland then part of the Russian Empire. Also gathered records on Eva Kondla; more to come on her. #nyc #newyorkcity #ancestry

Tonight’s project was Józefa Czarnecka Skonieczna (Mar 1875-1942), a first cousin 2X removed. She was born in #Ciechanów, the 6th of 13 children of Feliks Czarnecki and Ludwika Grudzińska. In Nov 1891, she married Stanisław Skonieczny. They had 2 girls and 1 boy that I know of. Shortly after the marriage, they moved to #Warsaw. She died in 1942, in #Wawrzyszew, 18 mi/29 km west of Warsaw. She was buried from St. Mary Magdalene parish. #Genealogy #Geniog #Ancestry
