My research group studies #ciliated marine larvae from a whole-organism perspective, combining behaviour, #connectomics, #imaging, #CRISPR, #modelling and other approaches. This specific project aims to understand the interactions of dynein-2 with key components of the centrosomal machinery and the role of those proteins in microtubule dynamics and ciliogenesis. NCS1 is primarily neuronal in terms of expression (although not exclusively by the look of it) which leads me to wonder if there is a family of myristoylated proteins serving this role in other tissues. #cilia

The amount of work in these papers I just mentioned is astonishing. I find that especially true of Anthony Roberts' work. Declaration - he's a collaborator and a friend, nonetheless there is nothing wasted in that paper - every figures tells us something or supports a previous finding new right the way through the main text and supplement. Lovely work, beyond my skill set. #cilia
