On the plus side the outgassing pants are driving away all the mosquitos and little flies that hang out near my front door (I think they like the shade). That might annoy the spiders who have set up around my front door harvesting all those mosquitos and flies, however. #circleoflife

here's mine for today: this green anole lizard sits on this exact pineapple leaf basically every day. it hunts lil flies that are attracted to a purple basil plant (whose little flowers are in the foreground).

For #TuneTuesday, here's a song that's pretty much about the theme of the #CircleOfLife. Less schmalzy and maudlin than songs from the late 60s and early 70s about the same topic, with a great vocal performance from Paul Carrack, the closest thing we have to a session frontman. No personal connection here, except maybe that it went to No.1 around the time I started my career as a fetus. But a great song can make you feel the emotion even without the lived experience

Going to air out one of my few guilty pleasures here. DMB was excellent live (though I never cared for their studio work), and this song has always been one of my favorites from him. The death references are obvious, but really this has as much to do with the time between the numbers on a person’s gravestone as it does about the death itself.
