Following the buzzing sound of busy bees, I stumbled upon a bush of #Cistus spec. (cf. salviifolius?) at #CIRM today. The last time I saw these was during a pre-pandemic excursion to the West-Mediterranean in 2019, when I was still fully convinced I was going to become a geo(botanist) in a few years. Times are certainly a changing!

We finally arrived at #CIRM a few bus minutes away from #Marseille, France for the Conference on Mathematical Population Dynamics, Ecology and Evolution #CMPDEE 2023. I'm excited to get the chance to talk about the math-heavy, but super fascinating parts of our project on self-organized pattern formation in complex #metacommunities! @christian
