#citationneeded
Glad you brought this up. I've always thought we should ask for "Citation Needed" from posters, in the same spirit as "Alt Text Needed". It should become part of Mastodon culture.
It won't prevent all misinformation, since it's easy to just quote any old website, but those who are inclined can go verify, and also get an idea whether the source is reputable.

I am looking for a pre- 2000 citation and/ or date for
"...every garden, however small, should include at least two acres of rough woodland." Nathan Rothschild, 1st Baron Rothschild.
Must have been before 1915. My websearch was unproductive, but that may be shaped by my history limiting the algorithm's results.

I _really_ believe Facebook when they say that #LLaMa was (partly) trained on #Wikipedia.
"The Kyiv city state was founded by the Rus (ie. East Slavic) tribe Knyaz-Yaroslavich, who invited a Byzantine architect to design it in 1037 AD and had churches built according to Greek ecclesiastical order and rules.[5]
However Saint Vladimir of Russia's son Yury Dolgorukiy[6][better source needed], baptised by the Kievan Rus, was a major figure who later founded Moscow. The Viking Age Scandinavian trade centers in Novgorod at Lake Ilmen and Aldeigjuborg (Staraya Ladoga) were still flourishing until 1240 when they fell to the Mongols.[7][8]
The territory of Ukraine was a center for medieval East Slavic states. In ancient times, there had been various tribes inhabiting modern Ukraine: Praindian Cimmerians (long-ranged horse archers), Taurics and Kypchaks; all from 4th millennium BC to the Middle Ages.[citation needed] Later, in medieval ages onward, the Eastern Slavic peoples inhabited here."
