! 💎 🦣🦥 Sometimes when out fossil hunting I also come across the occasional sedimentary anomaly. This septarian nodule was found along the Crow River in central Minnesota on a gravel bar. It is very loosely formed but I ‘dig’ it! 🦬🍂🦫

🐴 Happy ! The next year of the horse isn't until 2026 but the last couple of years have uncovered many horse specimens for me and a fellow fossil hunter. Horse specimens for us are second only to Bison bison finds. One of these teeth, if verified, will be the first Pleistocene horse documented in Minnesota! , , 🦬🦣🦥🐪

It's 🦣🦬🦥 Continuing to share some hometown, New Ulm, MN history. Below is a mammoth 🦷 which was found in 1912 during street construction, a 2nd 🦷 was found in 1929 (Specimen No. 3991 umn.edu collection), and in 2020 a mammoth hip and tusk! - see my previous post. The 🦷 below is housed at the Brown County Historical Society.
