It's not just the best image quality for #CitizenKane I've ever seen, it's the best #classic #BlackAndWhite #movie #image I've ever seen on a #TV screen; as good as any #BW #film in any #format.
The #sound is clean but only ok, overall, given the original source is from #1941.

It looks great and functions poorly.
The labeling of the four monogrammed fold-out sections of the box (which is in a sleeve), and the disc edges identifying each disc, is hidden and a bit difficult to read, and it requires grabbing the discs on the top and bottom (not the edges) to slide them out of the pocket in each folded-out section.
Disappointing details, from #CriterionCollection.

And the discs all arrived today! Total, with 50% sale price plus 10% #CriterionChannel member discount and included shipping: $76.
#CriterionCollection typically charges a premium for their releases because they're often special transfers (image and sound) with special features (designs, inserts, #BTS, etc.)
I've seen great reviews for these releases of #MalcolmX and #CitizenKane., and both have a good amount of physical and digital extras.

Although Citizen Kane has topped many movie polls it was not popular on its release. Indeed, at the 1941 Oscars, Citizen Kane was booed every time one of its nine nominations was announced.

I feel like "Citizen Kane is the greatest movie of all time" is nothing more than an ingroup vs. outgroup filter which people who fancy themselves movie experts use to determine who gets to be in their club.
If what you mean is "...judging by its leap forward compared to its contemporaries," then 🤷 I dunno, maybe, I'm not qualified to judge, and I'm not sure I care.
