@silke Community disaster response could presumably be coordinated through Mastodon, as has been done through Twitter. Coordinated hashtag use would be even more important here to deal with the synchronous timeline and lack of search function. Best case would be if emergency-related hashtag conventions on Mastodon could be established in advance. Then everyone in a location would how to find relevant and current information in the event of an emergency. Could be as simple as #CityDisaster—so people in Vancouver could all immediately know to use/follow “VancouverEarthquake” hashtag.
