That's weird: #Citymapper just made all the features that were exclusive to their CLUB subscription free, while turning it into a simple ad-free subscription for cheaper.
Maybe they realized that CLUB was too expensive for the features it added, thus almost nobody had been subscribed?

Los atascos en el bus los sufro para entrar en Alcorcón, sobre todo en Navidad por esa falta de carril bus que dices, pero hay otras líneas que los evitan por callejear, como la 520, que deja en la puerta.

Creo que el transporte público es muy mejorable como está, pero puede sernos muy útil si conseguimos cambiar un poco la mentalidad y el hábito del coche-para-todo que parece que hemos adquirido. Vivo junto a una calle en la que hay cero tráfico todo el día, pero que parece la Gran Vía cuando los niños salen de la academia de inglés. Dudo mucho que el 100% de los que estaban allí realmente tuvieran necesidad de coger el coche para recoger a sus hijos.

@sustainrelease my favorite is #CityMapper but #Moovit has some options that the other doesn't: you can turn modes of transport off e.g. in case of strikes (going to be necessary this week!) and it's a bit easier to get to a specific bus and see its schedule. Other than that CityMapper is not just much nicer to use, the team behind it seems very much on top of updating it quickly whenever they are informed about anything that changed.

@sustainrelease Yeah, it's all just Carris Metropolitana now, both north and south of the river. Exceptions are #MobiCascais in #Cascais, #TCB in #Barreiro and #Carris in #Lisbon itself, everything else is now just Carris Metropolitana. #GoogleMaps didn't update yet but you can find all new lines in the #Moovit and #CityMapper apps. Many of the old scattered companies didn't show up in basically any planning app, so even though many lines are basically the same as the old ones, they are WAY more accessible now. Also they all use exactly the same simple pricing system, so you know that #Zapping will work on all of them for occasional trips and the #Navegante pass (o #Passe) works no issue too. They replaced ALL buses, it's a completely new fleet, so no worn out vehicles any more either!

@saskia I've never really trusted Google Maps for cycling directions and instead use #CityMapper or #CycleStreets, both of which make use of the rich cycling data in #OpenStreetMap

The ideas outlined in that post are quite interesting (like the tool to evaluate existing bus lines and creating new ones), but I wonder if they are going to approach the municipal transit companies and help them improve their services, or if they are want to rival them and become the Uber of mass transit…
