Does anyone here play #Civ5? I'm trying to go from Immortal to Deity and the difference in difficulty between them feels quite insane. On Immortal I played 2 games in a row with no wars and got sub turn 200 Science victories. Meanwhile, on my most recent Deity attempt, I picked the AI Civs to specifically be the most peaceful and friendly ones in the game (Brazil, Byzantium, Morocco, Venice, and Ethiopia) and Morocco declared war on me around turn 100 despite being friendly with me and not coveting my lands. Meanwhile, Byzantium's capital at this point was size 25. My capital is usually that size by the end of the game. I know the Deity AI cheats, but man I wish it was a bit less egregious than this.
Since it's popping up on the local time line: #10GamesToKnowMe
And we'll do the most reasonable thing we can do:
- #Civ1
- #Colonization
- #Civ2
- #AlphaCentauri
- #Civ3
- #Civ4
- #Civ5
- #BeyondEarth
- #Civ6
- #Civ7
Because this is the best list, obviously.

Play the new #Civ5 "Game Of the Month", and compete with other civ-fanatics for the highest scoring victory!
For this #GOTM we give you a summer feeling with a nice beach scenario! You play as Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon on a standard size inland sea map on Deity level, and you need to strive for a science victory. The deadline for sending in your game is August 15.

@Sobtanian #Civ5 and #Civ6 are available on Linux, have been ported by Aspyr. On Steam it says SteamDeck+Linux, so I guess we know the reason. I heard that at least #Civ6 runs well on the Steamdeck, but have neither tried it nor playing any of them on Linux though. #Civ4 is only available for Mac, the rest is windows only.
And for the June game of the #Civ5 #Civilization5 “Game Of The Month” we get you a culture vacation. You play as Enrico Dandolo of Venice on a standard size pangaea map on Immortal level. You need to go for a culture victory, but all other victories are enabled, so you need to make sure that no AI beats you at another one. You have until July 31st to obtain all the great artworks!

the aztecs and incas never knew what hit them. next up: koreans, dutch and americans.
So, I'm playing a lot of Civ5 with the Vox Populi mod at the moment, it's fun. Massive learning curve and the AI is a challenge, both of which are good.
I'm Rome, I've spread out a bit and just made contact with the other continent, making friends with Sofia. Sofia will gift me Turtle Ships, the Korean special that is great in defence but can't go into Ocean. Just got one. Guess where...
One of the best naval units in this era, and it's completely useless to me :-D
I love this game #Civ5
Pläne für den Rest des Tages -
#Civ5 mit den Sumerern (erstmal auf Königlevel den Anfang überlebt) und später Teil 3 von der Maximilian-Serie
