Short 2.6 mile #Hike this morning at #ClarenceFahnestockStatePark with Lena the #GSD before the heat returns. The mosquitoes were horrendous, so had to cut things short. Despite spray, they were a constant nuisance. No other cars in the lot should have warned me. Parked at Dennytown Rd, walked Sunken Mine Rd to the Yellow trail to a short stint on the Red then returned to Sunken Mine on the Blue. Nice streams. Found some interesting #Fungi along the way. Will be back when less buggy. #Hiking

Took a 5 mile hike this morning at #ClarenceFahnestockStatePark Parked at Hubbard Lodge off Rt9 Much running water; pleasant rushing streams and some trails still water covered from the record rainfall last weekend. Not too hot in the shade and surprisingly few mosquitos. An abandoned house in the woods collapsed since I saw it last fall. Didn’t get too close due to abundant poison ivy and ticks. #HudsonValleyNY #Hiking #Nature #Summertime
