For many years (long before all these new shows) my text message chime has been the star fleet doorbell. Now each time someone rings the doorbell, I end up checking my phone. Since I’m already on my phone I figured I’d toot this.

On any average day in an average persons life(style) -

The average person talks about, for example, traveling to locations using Jet travel, and doesn't consider the environmental effects of travelling by Jet.

The average person often mentions BBQs, campfires or even bonfires, and doesn't appear to be aware of the air pollution they cause.

The average person feels pleasure whilst eating meat, though feels displeasure whilst thinking about animal cruelty - so they try not to think that their choices, their habits cause animal cruelty. Because, the average person believes their not cruel.

The average person lives for 'today', though today's average behaviours are ecologically degrading tomorrow's future.

The average person perceives 'tomorrow' optimistically, whilst, on average, the average person's lifestyles is making tomorrow less ecologically sustainable.

The average person doesn't understand chemistry, even though their bodies, their selves, are biochemistry.

The average person votes for average politicians, people they can relate to. Or people they will blame if they feel their average lifestyles are threatened.

The average person perceives they're not average. The average person expresses a behavioural psychology that is indicative of insecure or secure narcissism. That average person doesn't think of themselves that way (implicit narcissism).

The average psychologist doesn't believe in, or isn't educated in, therefore doesn't understand - evolutionary psychology.

Some not so average people are sociopaths - they manipulate the average person. For example, they greenwash the average person. But, green washing the average person isn't difficult, for the average person isn't informed about the relevant science's. Or the average people doesn't really care that, for example, their average lifestyles are ecologically toxic & degrading. But, the average person feels good about virtue signaling.

Some average people are leaders that, on average, do business on average, in other words, "business as usual".

Some not so average people try to raise the average person's awareness. For example, they speak out & protest against deforestation, private jet owners, road expansions, plastic pollution, meat eating, air pollution, the fossil fuel industry, etc. But, the average person may call them hypocrites for not being so average, for not wanting to live their average lifestyles.

The average lifestyle isn't ecologically sustainable, it's causing the climate to change. But, the average politician, the average business person, the average voter, isn't able & willing to change their average behaviours.

The population average (statistical mean) is both an over and under estimation of perception (context dependent). In some objective contexts, by some measures, homo sapiens perceive themselves as having extraordinary psychological traits. Though, there only extraordinary because their species typical (average) psychological traits. That "extraordinary" is the perception of the average human, that doesn't tend to think like an evolutionary biologist. That doesn't perceive themselves as only one species amongst multitudes. Our dominance causing forms of self fulfilling prophecies (narcissistic perception).

So, humans are chemicals. And yet, those (electro)chemicals in certain configurations, perceive a multitude of subjective delusions (illusions that have social & ecologically detrimental effects) . Or at least, because the 'mind' is a model of objective reality (perception), that model can be more or less of an accurate represention of objective reality. "Belief's" are a symptom of delusion. "Belief's" don't relate to an understanding, they relate to stories, to mythology, to mysticism, to dogma, to being wrong about reality.

So, let's keep keeping on trying to mitigate those wrongs. After all is "blah blah blah" & done (activities) - the biggest change in human history is happening (ready or not). Climate change is the effect, the ecologically degrading sign, that our species has many 'lessons' to learn.

Will it be the hard way? Is that how humans learn? (On average).

I mentioned the word “kibble” then saw drool forming on her bottom lip. Pavlov rules 🐶 (And of course I gave her a piece of kibble; it seemed only fair!)
