Puttering along on the Amtrak Cascades train to Seattle. We passed a train wash which for some bizarre reason made me think of the 1976 movie Car Wash. The movie was a blacksploitation comedy detailing the lives of employees at a local car wash. It had George Carlin and Richard Prior plus a crapton of 70's character actors. I'm guessing it would be pretty cringy to watch today but I remember my pre-teen self thinking it was funny.

I'll be frank. For over 3 yrs, I tried to have actual conversations on Twitter about film, music. I was unable to sustain any kind of consistent dialogue about #screwballcomedy or the kinds of music I livetweeted.

I depend on #screwballcomedy, #classiccomedy & music to help me with chronic pain, chronic health conditions. With few exceptions, all I've gotten is boring commentary, bitchiness, and devaluing.

It's not fun to talk about something you love when people don't value it.

#BOTD #WilliamDemarest is right up there for me with #EdwardEverettHorton, in that I'll pretty much watch any film he's in.

Besides the Preston Sturges films, I love him as Smiles Benson in WEDDING PRESENT.

It just won't be the same or have the same attraction as the original series, and therefore will almost certainly be a flop.
