Back in 2017...Yesterday me and my good friend Thomas built a few PCB boards for the cartridge version of PHASE OUT LPE. Here you see the board testing on a black (C16 case) C64. Every game chip got a serial number (white label).

On a discussion email list someone asked what media is going to last decades. I replied "Acid Free Paper". There is real life indication of longevity unlike the projections of CD/DVD/BD etc. 🙂​The only caveat is not to use a laser printer to put the data on it unless you are very sure that sticky laser goo is good and fused. I'd probably use an inkjet and some QR type of coding with lots of redundancy. Just musing.
Maybe I wonder if they make acid free paper tape? 😀​

This building in google maps was the home to Dynalogic, who then became Bytec-Dynalogic then finally Comterm something like that. Home of the first IBM PC work alike luggable, the Hyperion. It failed miserably due to bad floppy diskdrives plus a not so compatible design. Michael Copeland was an investor and also had a share in a helicotper company. He occasionally flew into the (then vacant) back lot to visit. :-( I was one of the employees. ;)

Was feeling rather nostalgic, so busted out the box of Atari ST Format magazine. Every other year I love to have a read through and see how far we've come in the world of tech. It's quite interesting to read how back then we all thought Atari would be the future... Well, I still have my 1040STe, Mega STe, heaps of boxed games, software, Atari monitors and Atari printers. I'll never toss this gear. It's too awesome. For now I've posted a few pics of the saddest ST Format issue, the last one. I remember grabbing this from the corner newsagent in Bothwell, Tasmania back in 96' and being distraught it was the last one ever! Look who had taken the reigns though, that lad @nickpeers always enjoyed when he began reviewing games, moved into more involved articles. Always a top writer! Big fan!

I really wonder what’s going to happen to Paul Allen’s Living Computer museum. He sure didn’t do a good job of any on making sure it would be in good hands after his death.

At this point I really doubt it’s ever reopening. I wonder what the state of everything is after being mothballed for almost three years.

I wonder how fast a 6502 modernised to have 32 bit registers would be. Honestly it was very RISC in its time. Random Logic 1 instruction per cycle.
