So, I decided to post the original source code for Fusion up on GitHub, for posterity. It's all set to compile with GCC circa 1999, in DOS/Windows, when I was using the RHIDE editor etc etc.
I just realised it's Classic Doom's 30th anniversary this year (Dec 10th). I think this might mean a replay then ... 🤔
DosBox + the hacky engine ("Fusion") that I built on-top of MBF's codebase in the latest 90's, I reckon 😅
Haste map 04 done. Another cool map, only 1 attempt surprisingly, not the most difficult map out of the first four but it has some tricky hectic fights.
I missed practicing and grinding challenging maps from Rush some time ago and figured that Haste would be a good wad to play. Like rush it's a slaughterwad and its early maps are short and easy for slaughter standards, also like rush.
I'm at map 04 right now, attempts for UV single segment runs:

Map 02: 1
Map 03: 26
Very nice wad so far, it looks great and it's fun (when you aren't annoyed thinking "what am I supposed to do here??" of course)
Finished my second map. Though it's far from a masterpiece it's a big improvement over the first, it has much better visuals with improved texturing and better and more interesting combat. #doom #classicDoom

Strategy analysis of a stupidly big and difficult doom map, very fun watch
I started building another map right after the first and it's already much better, looks nicer and the combat is better designed (probably accidentally), I really like the 3 minutes of gameplay I have right now. The only problem is following it up because I can't seem to come up with anything to continue the map but I'll do something eventually #classicDoom #doom
I was trying out #doom mapping recently with ultimate doom builder, gotta say that it's much easier than I thought so the only challenge is level design itself, the challenge is only creative #classicDoom

if you are playing classic doom games and require cheats (because you are playtesting a level and, for example, a wall is broken)
1- you do not type the cheat into chat. just hit the letters on your keyboard corresponding to what you want
2- type the same cheat a second time to disable it

I tried doom's nightmare difficulty and as you probably guessed the experience was exactly the same as the commom/stereotypical one: e1m1 and e1m2 were okay but then I gave up at e1m3 after a few attempts because of the huge difficulty spike. I kinda want to like nightmare, I should come back sometime and use saves to make it doable #classicDoom #doom
