I wish there was a way of using fractional scaling (on Linux) without making all monochrome images in the web browser look like crap because they're getting subtly scaled, even when you try to match the scale factor precisely.

(and I'm doing 125% fractional scaling, so it's not like it's a really *weird* number)

It's kind of sad when you're walking down memory lane on infinitemac.org, and it looks like blurry trash. :'(

One of my colleagues sends emails which have a text/plain component that uses bare CR as line endings. Not LF, not CR/LF. Is he using an #Amiga? Maybe a #ClassicMac? Or perhaps #RISCOS? Curious minds want to know.

New Bumbershoot Software post. A full release of the Simulated Evolution program on Classic Macs! I was aiming for a Mac II running System 7, but in the end it will basically run on any classic system from 512Ke on with up-to-date-for-it System software.

My OS 9.22 install doesn't seem to like my Dell Ultrasharp monitor. I can only start it with the Extensions off (booting while holding shift). All was fine and dandy, but now I need Quicktime :(

The same computer (PowerMac G4 Digital Audio) runs fine with Tiger with the same monitor.

Any ideas on how to fix it? I have already disabled all extensions on the Extensions Manager and it did nothing to fix it.

Just in time for the end of #MARCHintosh, I got the Powebook 180c working! I did end up having to source another screen, but I'm happy with the outcome 🙂 Still need to recap the 3 amp PSU as I hear they tend to leak, but at least this screen is nice and sharp. The last picture is of the old panel, even with a recap and no bad traces it was a no go. I figure electrolyte must have leaked to the back side under the ribbon cables. #classicmac

My local Goodwill had this retail box for Mac OS 7.6 for $9.99. Unfortunately the CD was missing and I already have Disk Tools floppies.

The manuals were neat, but I don't collect retail boxes (more room for hardware.) Still neat to see!
