Surprising nobody, if you are rich, you are significantly more likely to get in elite schools. If you are very poor, you have an extremely slight advantage. If you are between very poor and very rich.... tough luck kid, roll the dice better next time. Somebody has to pay the price for other people's advantages.
I really hope stats like these really put to bed the notion that getting into elite schools are even remotely close to meritocracy.

When I went on strike and saw employees cross my picket line it made me sick (we lost that fight). The only hope working folks have is in solidarity with other workers. It hurts financially and you never get back the wages that are lost. But honoring that picket line benefits working stiffs for years into the future. -they are destroying our quality of life with noise and fumes
-they are worse than cars on global warming. Really!
-the fumes are carcinogenic & the noise causes hearing loss
-Users are mostly Latino, so it’s an #equity problem
It’s also #classwarfare . Rich people have for years been blocking a ban. A victory here is a victory for all of us.

It's #ClassWarfare blaming poor for #nationaldebt. Yes #SocialServices is a fair % of the budget, but so is the military & they arent cutting that. Besides for every $1 the gov puts into SNAP we get about $1.79 in economic activity. It's true for other #PublicAssistance prgms like #TANF, #Section8 & others.

The bill lets 14-year-olds work 6-hour night shifts, 15-year-olds work on assembly lines, and 16- and 17-year-olds serve alcohol.
