When it comes to #gamedev, I usually tend to lean towards #ClickTeamFusion for game jams and my more committed projects. However, I do have some working knowledge on Unity - but I want to get my feet wet (again) with it. This is so that I can switch between engines easily.
Shown here is a top-down space shooter with mouse and keyboard controls. I'm currently learning from Michigan State University on the Coursera platform. I read that they've updated the course for 2023.

It's important to not just consider making objects fit into a commonly-used screen resolution, but to also consider full-screen options. I think I might be able to find a workaround in #ClickTeamFusion

I never had much luck learning programming languages, but my son showed interest in making video games so I installed #gDevelop on two computers and we started watching some tutorials.
By the end of the night, we both had some rudimentary platform games up and running. Not much more than running, jumping and collecting coins, but we're excited to continue tomorrow.
Almost ten years ago, I actually managed to make a decent top-down space shooter with #ClickteamFusion. I was very proud of it.
