This is almost five years into the #SouthWestInMotion five-year plan to scrap together a usable #bikeNetwork. I don't think we needed to convene a Stakeholder's Working Group to figure out that one or two of those 19 lanes could be just for people on bikes. TFW you have a designated Major City Bikeway in your #TransportationSystemsPlan / #ComprehensivePlan / #ClimateActionPlan, but don't actually care about anybody being able to bike in #Portland.

What exactly is the Climate Change Advisory Council role on it? it seems to take an academic, stand back, quietly drop a report once a year, stance, rather than being an independent watchdog for #Ireland #ClimateAction? It has a seriously resourced and funded executive - and a senior level membership - why is it not speaking up and challenging ? #ClimateActionPlan

A city's #MasterPlan is a road map for that city for the next decade or so. It spells out policies on things like #LandUse (what gets built where), #mobility, and, increasingly, a #ClimateActionPlan.

A Master Plan is updated periodically, with public consultation. Find out when that happens for your city, and get involved: after all, it shapes where you live, for a long time ahead.

Our city is finalizing its #ClimateActionPlan. On the one hand, it's exciting that we've gotten this far. On the other hand, some citizen members of the team don't seem to get that their own thousands of miles of car trips all over the country to visit relatives, or multiple vacations that include flying are part of the problem. On the other hand, what an individual does, assuming we are not billionaires (we are not), is such a pitiful drop in the bucket, it's easy to explain it away. On the other hand, if every individual quit unnecessary fossil-fueled trips, went vegan, stopped buying unnecessary stuff, sealed & insulated their dwellings, switched to electric cooking & heating, installed solar where possible, pushed electeds to move bigger and faster, etc., it *would* make a difference. So, please urge your city, school district, county, large employer to do a climate action plan, and please make as many personal climate-positive changes as possible, I guess. #ClimateActionNow "We had our chance to make incremental changes, but that time is over.
