The poorest not only contribute the least to the problem (because they consume and thus emit the least), but also have the least leeway for any cuts. It is the middle and upper classes that need to drastically curb their consumption.

The sad truth is that market-based solutions utterly failed at addressing the #ClimateCrisis. There are other solutions (like rationing), but the "freedom-loving" westerners would never accept them.
