This, by the way, is another paper i would like to write (once i get many other unfinished, overdue ones out of the way): about class, and in particular the upper middle class (the top 7% say). This class and its values, interests, powers is so important in and we don’t talk about it enough

@CiaraNi @Firlefanz yes, you are so right- that definitely came into it for me. I’ve been trying to work out why, after being very concerned as a teenager/student in the 80s/first half of 90s, i then, somehow, relaxed a bit abkut climate change, along with so many others. That was one reason; and the propaganda of jndustry, spreading doubt etc. it affected me too, i am embarrassed to admit.

@outi Thank you for sharing all this - those kinds of feelings of are another emerging theme on . Maybe you can indeed discuss the lack of at ECR2023 in corridor conversations. Academic conferences are a real crux of - each one massive carbon footprint, and then so blinkered and focused on whatever their topic is that hardly any address the big questions. As Charlie Gardner @jks and others keep saying, academia really needs to change
