Denali National Park Headquarters July rainfall total of 0.66 inches (16.7mm) is only 21 percent of normal and the lowest for any July on record. Climate obs at DNP Headquarters since 1923.

Utqiaġvik high temperature Friday was 71F (21.7C), breaking the previous record high for July 21 of 64F (17.8C) in 2013. This follows Wednesday's high on 74F (23.3C). This is the first summer Utqiaġvik has had two or more days high with highs in the 70s since 2009.

It’s the extremes that seriously threaten any ag system and I cannot see any way of dealing with extended heat waves of 50c+ (some plants start slowing photosynthesis at 20c, many have peak production 24-30c and decline rapidly nearing 40c) I hope I’m wrong but what sort of world will we have if we have to? One scenario is most food production moves indoors (to secure against outside extremes) as ag as we know it now will not be able to build reserves (financial, people) between extremes and leave many landscapes. This would be welcomed by some - really?? - a landscape wracked by is a preferred option?
