It’s the extremes that seriously threaten any ag system and I cannot see any way of dealing with extended heat waves of 50c+ (some plants start slowing photosynthesis at 20c, many have peak production 24-30c and decline rapidly nearing 40c) I hope I’m wrong but what sort of world will we have if we have to? One scenario is most food production moves indoors (to secure against outside extremes) as ag as we know it now will not be able to build reserves (financial, people) between extremes and leave many landscapes. This would be welcomed by some - really?? - a landscape wracked by #climateextremes is a preferred option?
