The Asian American Writers Workshop just published this exchange I had with the poet and scholar Jennifer Chang on climate change, poetry, and personal loss. It's part of what they're calling a "Climate Notebook."

Hope you'll check it out!

Curious to see what happens. Question: Perhaps it's obvious what the natural and social sciences offer the study of climate change, but what does and can the humanities offer?

I'm asking because on Friday I'll be part of a symposium on this subject. I know what I think, but the question deserves lots of discussion (imho).

Feels a little like the start of an academic retreat.

Hi, I'm an English professor at Boston College, specialist in , (or is it ?). My work has also become focused on , , , and more broadly.

Wrote a few books, lots of editing, and shorter pieces, some of it at places like LARB, Chronicle, Washington Post, Public Books, etc.

I do a lot of admin now, which keeps me busy.
