The last #IPCC report was recently released. It shows we are not doing enough efforts (are we really doing any ?). The prediction for the future #GreenHouse gas emissions according to current policies is still (by far) above what is needed to cap the #globalwarming within 2ºC !

Wake up folks, we need to do much more than that ! Everyone should act, both citizens and decision makers.

The future generations are watching us !

Before, I was thinking that my #research activities had a negligible impact on #GlobalWarming.

One day, I computed my own professional #carbonfootprint, just considering my #travels for work (using the method of @Labos1point5_en). I realised it was up to 10x more than the max budget of 2 tons eCO2 / yr / person. 😱

I therefore changed my habits and decreased my trip's #footprint by a factor 3️⃣0️⃣ !

The idea of a tariff based on greenhouse gas emissions embedded in products got its start in the fee-and-dividend movement, and has been kicking around ever since. John Podesta pushed for it in early drafts of Build Back Better, but it never made it into legislation.
