Ob im Mittelmeer oder auf dem Festland: Schutzsuchende sterben auf ihrem mühsamen Weg in ein neues, sicheres Leben, auch in Europa. Im Fall der verbrannten Migranten im Wald steckt jedoch eine völlig neue Qualität: Die griechische Öffentlichkeit bezichtigt Geflüchtete, die Waldbrände gelegt zu haben.

Offen wird zu einem Pogrom gegen sie aufgerufen. Das Narrativ: der Geflüchtete sei der skrupellose Brandstifter, der Hellas in Schutt und Asche legt. Darin steckt eine abscheuliche Fremdenfeindlichkeit und Islamophobie. Die Staatsfeinde Nummer eins hätten nur eines im Sinn: das christliche Abendland zu vernichten.

Eine Metapher dürfte lehrreich sein. Die US-Juristin Kimberlé Crenshaw, die die kritische „Rassen“-Theorie (mit)entwickelte, verwendet sie: Man stelle sich einen Keller voller Menschen vor, von denen einige, wie bei einer menschlichen Pyramide, auf den Schultern anderer Menschen stehen. Diese Pyramide reicht bis an eine Decke. Oberhalb der Decke sind die Privilegierten der Gesellschaft, deren Rechte voll anerkannt sind. Ab und an öffnen die Privilegierten eine kleine Tür."

Yes, it will be VERY ugly. Personally, I predict 1-4 Billion deaths due to the effects of the #ClimateCrisis over the next century.
