A new study has found that media coverage of climate migration often uses dehumanizing and xenophobic language. The study analyzed over 1,000 articles from 15 countries and found that they frequently portrayed climate migrants as threats, burdens or victims. The study calls for more nuanced and empathetic reporting that respects the dignity and agency of climate migrants.

A study about the Sixth Mass Extinction from 2022 but still as accurate, alerting and pressing as ever. Which is why I wanted to boost it here.

I feel like it's one of the parts about climate change and human folly that is often disregarded for no apparent reason.

#ClimateCrisis will lead to many deaths and conflicts, especially (and mostly unjustified) in the global south, the ones suffering from the global north's colonialist bullshittery.

But, many don't seem to have in mind that if, for example, bees are gone, flowers won't get pollinated. Ask the Chinese people about it.

Earth's biosphere is intertwined in a very complex manner and us humans are just a small part of it, even if we may believe otherwise.

At the rate, species are currently vanishing, I find it highly alerting that it's being ignored by most media, except for those deeply involved with #climatechange and #nature

@simon_brooke @W_Lucht @rahmstorf Simon, The odds of staying within 1.5 degrees are close to zero. We need to firstly focus on continuing to slow and eventually stop growth in emissions. Net zero is bullsh*t .. reducing emissions faster and faster is then the next step. Growth in renewables , then real energy reduction and a economy with pulse patten rather than exponential endless growth in resources utilisation. Pace yourself, those with trillions of vested interest aren’t going to let go easily… sigh I started banging on about this stuff back in the 1980’s . If was easy something would have been done by now.💪
