The difficulty with tackling #obesity is not measuring it but changing people's behaviour or the environment to reduce rates of obesity at population level.

For measuring general trends in obesity or as a screening tool #BMI is fine. For #Clinical purposes yes there are better measures of adiposity. But it is probably better to focus on how to solve problems rather than just measure them.
