#clondon52 prompt: everyday carry - the details can shift a little bit, but I usually have a flashlight, knife, phone, wallet, USB drive, and some keys.

clondon52 Month 2: A Day in the Life
I have finally switched to having seperate cameras, one for going out photographing and one for permanently carrying around, family snaps etc.
It works well when you run in to unexpected scenes like this sunrise during the nursery drop off.

Artistic Fears
When I started photography I would avoid shooting if anyone could see me, waiting for an empty street to take a photo of a building. Also self concious about street photography, landscape and gig photography I can make sure the lighting + composition works and the photo will be decent. In street there are fewer places to hide.
I don't love this photo, taken a few stabs at it and this is the best I have managed which seems fitting for the topic.

#clondon52 prompt: artistic fears - people
I mostly take pictures of birds. Photographing people is well outside my comfort zone.
Olympus E-M1 II, Sigma 30/1.4

A main photographic goal for the year: more emphasis on composition and light rather than just relying on interesting subjects to carry the image.
That should not be taken to imply that this wood stork (Mycteria americana) isn't an interesting subject.

4- Another hobby or passion
I really enjoy the outdoors. I was lucky enough to have 2 uncles and a grandfather to take me outside, camp, fish and just enjoy the outdoors. The world lost all 3 of them in 2022. I can never thank them enough for what they gave me in their lifetimes. #clondon52 #clondon52_01 #dronelife #nature #droneoftheday #photography #drone #quadcities #iowa

A main photographic goal for the year.
Last year I started "helping" a rugby team by shooting at their games. These are now easily my most people-focused shots, and not something I've done before. I'm still uncomfortable shooting people, and I'm not brave enough to make that my goal, but I'd like to get "out there" more this year, and to see more. I fall easily into routine, and if I can break that, great, and I expect my photos would be more interesting for it, too.

Artistic fears.
I wonder if I'll ever really get it with photography sometimes. I respect photos where a photographer has grabbed the moment, or been able to spin something out of "nothing", where a mistake could have made it utterly uninteresting visually. I was the wrong side of a fence here, but still think there's a better composition that would make the image. Still, to come across a couple of cars appearing to be so violently reclaimed by nature was cool.

Another hobby or passion
It's maybe a stretch to call this one a hobby, but I'm going with it because it's cold outside 😄 there's an independent beer shop near me, and I go there relatively frequently with a couple of friends. The selection is pretty staggering, and the themed events on some weekends are even better. This is just a quick snap to remind me of the evening.

52 Weeks with C.London - Artistic Goals -My goal for this challenge is to get out there -- to have my camera, to take photos, to generally get out of my comfort zone and to see (and capture!) things that I otherwise wouldn't.

3- Past experiences with photography
I started in mid 2020 at the height of the pandemic. Photography gave me something to do away from people and start to explore the space around me. I still have a hard time calling myself a photographer. But I am getting more comfortable with the idea. #droneoftheday #photography #clondon52 #clondon52_01 #aerialphotography #drone

Clondon Week 3: "An other hobby or passion."
15 or so years ago I used to do a lot of gig photography, it is one of the reasons I first picked up a camera but fell out of it for a long time. Enjoying getting back into it and starting to be bit more deliberate about improving.

2022 was a complete wash for me photographically. So my goal for 2023 is simple: don't let stress and life get in the way. Make time to get out and do what I love. Today I did just that. Got a small amount of images I'm happy-ish with, so thre's at least that.
#clondon52 #clondon52_01
A main photographic goal for the year.
While I do want to get a bit better at posting "print worthy" landscapes as opposed to the more opportunistic ones I have been getting up till now. There is is still 2 main reasons I picked up a camera again and my goal is to have photos for us all to look back on.

First #clondon submission - "Past experiences with photography"
Most of my photography for the last few years has been doing landscapes while munro bagging. Sometimes I get good photos but dont finish a munro, if I don't get any photos at least I finished a munro! Pretty blustery outing today.

Submission 4: Main Photographic Goal of the Year
My final submission of the month. A simple reminder to never stop experimenting, trying something new, keeping your eyes open, and learning from what I shot before. I hope to become even better at recognizing photo opportunities this year even when my initial plans don't go that great. Sometimes there is something better past the wreckage.

Artistic Fears - Part 1: I find myself headed out with a slew of film gear and a clear target (This week it was abandoned Tennessee), but I always bring along a digital to get a 'safe' shot. Alternatively, when I have a digital shoot like a portrait session or something fine art, I often set the lights and scene to be compatible with a potential roll of film. I would love to work on being content with what I get without overdoing/overthinking it.
Submission 3: Artistic Fears
Though I've been shooting for a while now, I still get nervous shooting others in public, for many reasons. Bothering them, fear of confrontation, social anxiety. I've gotten so much better, and approaching people before and after taking the shot helps, but its something to keep working on.
