They were still playing smaller places like college gyms, had a tiny PA system, no limos or security team. After the gig the band was just sort hanging out in the gym so my friend comes up and starts talking to Anderson. Gushing about Fragile, he naively asks Anderson what could they possibly do after that!?! Anderson kind of smirks and says, "oh, we have some ideas." š #prog #CloseToTheEdge

Developed a fever last night, along with a headache, cough, & slightly achy muscles. Probably something I caught last week in India or en-route home over the weekend despite masking, but at least doesnāt seem to be the lurgee š¤·āāļø
Am supposed to travel to Porto tomorrow for a visiting committee, then London over the weekend for work & family reasons, so we shall see š¤

Great Albums - 1970s: #Yes ā #CloseToTheEdge (1972). If you can decipher the subtitles and figure out what a āSiberian Khatruā is supposed to be, a big green lolly for you. In any case, these pieces are among the few examples of prog concept keeping its shoes on the ground, especially amazing in light of Andersonās lyrics ā which mystified even him. Wakemanās organ solo on the title track is transcendent ā fitting Yes at its rockiest.
