One pant leg done. Still need to do the other, the pocket extension is finished, the patches in the back are finished, just need to add another small patch on the inside in the front, then it's finally done! Many many hours of slowly fixing them while generally unwell.

These are the strongest and most expensive pieces of clothing I own. I expect them to still be good 20 years from now.

@Monedula once you've woven your whole way across, try to finish on the same corner as you did with the original row of threads. On a jumper, just pull all your threads onto the reverse side and tie off one thread of each colour in a knot at the corners. You can sew the ends in if you like but I don't usually bother. If you're doing a two sided repair then you will need to weave the ends in nicely and trim the excess off. I hope that makes at least a little bit of sense!

@Monedula starting from the same corner. Work up & down as opposed to side to side. Weave under/over the existing threads, catch a little bit of stable fabric and then go back the other way. Make sure to do the opposite to the previous row so if you finished on "under" start with an "over".
Top tip, pass the needle backwards (eye first) to avoid splitting threads as you weave.

@Monedula now start laying down your darn. Basically zig zag back and forth catching a little bit of stable fabric on either side. If its a one sided darn like a jumper I just stay on the surface. If it's a scarf you might like to go through and out the other side. So you do both sides at once. So start sewing, go across, in, across on the other side and pop out slightly higher next to where you started. Then go again. Keep going till you've covered an area a bit bigger than the hole. Leave the ends loose so you can adjust tension at the next stage.

@Monedula step 1. Set your item up in an embroidery hoop or over a darning mushroom. Then sew around the outside of the hole to stabilise it and stop it fraying any further. If its a knit pattern try and pick up any loose loops to stop them running (like ladders in tights).

Visible menders:

Can you recommend a beginner-friendly tutorial for mending a hole in a woven scarf, that looks good from either side? There's no front / back, so I need a reversible visible mend. Is that a thing?

I'm not looking for perfect and matchy matchy. But searches aren't turning up anything helpful.
