This is the logical end point of #proprietary software ideology: The desire to assume total control over everyone's computing no matter what.

@p1ng0ut Das Witzige ist, dass die ganzen Verfechter von #clowncomputing jetzt erst einmal ein richtiges Telefon und meine Nummer finden müssen, weil ihr geliebtes #teams nicht mehr geht und da sie die Telefonie darauf umgestellt haben, sie jetzt nicht mal Hilfe holen können.
Dazu kommt, dass die eine Firma jetzt gerade eine Pumpstation und einen Gastrockner herunterfährt, weil die Notruftelefone nicht mehr funktionieren. Die sind auch auf Teams umgestellt. Wir haben sie 2019 gewarnt wenigstens dort einen normalen Telefonanschluss zu haben. Nein, die Cloud geht immer. Dort sind Profis, die wissen , was sie tun. Viel besser als wir.

Yet another good reason to avoid all #ServiceAsAsSoftwareSubstitute, your computing is entirely at the whim of some unaccountable third party.

Because you don't control it or host it, the provider can simply turn it off one day and tell you that they:

@iah Sorry to hear about the rolling data disaster. This is one reason people are attracted to #ClownComputing, I suppose. But that's not worth the lock-in and surveillance.
