You have to meet the moment, and the audience, where they are.
Today's #ClownWisdom: Try to find tiny little delights in everything.
I had a project blow up in my face, and I was able to include the error message into an email so smoothly that despite the frustrations I briefly felt like one of you cool wizard hackers that I call friends.
"The faster I can make that mistake, the faster I can learn from it."

Was editing an upcoming podcast episode, and this comment about costuming stood out to me:
"Sometimes, the repair told the story of someone who is living."
Fix things. It proves you're living.
I'm currently editing this weekend's #2ClownsInACloset #podcast episode, and I had to share this gem of #ClownWisdom from our conversation:
> The minute you tell someone something is "important" they stop having fun.
#clownwisdom #podcast #2ClownsInACloset
Not to worry, I post often enough that I'm likely to repeat myself. I started adding the #ClownWidsom and #ClownWisdom hashtags to them for findability.
As for the question, I'm just aware that I rambled a bunch about what's been going on with me, and figured passions and inspirations would be a more interesting way to ask about you and yours.
Trying to dissect humor is like trying to dissect a frog...
You may discover some interesting material, but the whole thing dies in the process.
Whenever I boot up my laptop, it reaches into a fortune file filled with dubious bits of "Clown Widsom" I've picked up over the years.
The typo in the original filename has now become canonical, and I enjoy the ritual of checking the 'widsom' as I get started with whatever computer touching I have planned.
Today's gem:
"Create moments instead of just showing crap you brought to the show."
Assume for sake of discussion, "play" is...
1. It is Self-Chosen and Self-Directed
2. It's Done for Its Own Sake, Not an Outside Reward
3. It's Always Structured
4. It Always Has an Element of Imagination
5. It's Conducted in a Very Alert Frame of Mind
I would love to hear about the last time you enjoyed "play", and what form it took.
Disappointment takes planning.
If you don't know where you are going, you can just enjoy the outcome.

I have proven myself foolish!
Thank you for the correction, it's definitely under #clownwisdom
"Clowns make people question the gravity by displaying the power of levity."
I saw two adult people in my parking lot playing catch with a volley ball today.
Just playing, for its own sake.
We need more of this.
Went for a late night walk to clear my head and saw a sign which read:
Slow
Elderly
Children
At Play
I feel seen.
"To be a clown takes more than a red nose...It takes three things:
The mind of a writer, the heart of a poet and the body of an athlete.
But the most important thing for a clown is to be a nice and good person"
- Oleg Popov

Found myself sharing a useful bit of #ClownWisdom with a student. They were lamenting the difficulty of the work. My response:
"If it was easy, it wouldn't be special."
From the #ClownWisdom files:
"We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be."
- Kurt Vonnegut
