Gave #Clubhouse a go but I don't like it. Half the time the audio doesn't play for me. Kind of a shame, cos I can sort of see the appeal.

Hello Fediverse friends. Has anyone used or is familiar with the #Clubhouse app? I recently heard about it and wondering if its worth checking out. To me, an audio social media platform sounds like it would be prone to lots of shouting and talking over others. Also understand theres a certain lack of anonymity so thats concerning. So I stumbled across an app called clubhouse essentially it's an audio platform to communicate about pressing topics of the day I recommend people to take a look into it's insightful. But just be warned some of the content is belligerent.

I think sometimes, though certainly not always, people enjoy the invite-only services like #bluesky and #clubhouse because it feels like an exclusive club. I get the need for invites to gradually increase growth to account for testing. But I think sometimes it causes us to also not think rationally about services because of the joy of “getting in, being part of the in-crowd”.
