The satellite-based SARAH data sets ("Surface Solar Radiation data set - Heliosat") provide information on surface #Radiation & #Sunshine duration and are therefore used, for example, in many applications in the field of #RenewableEnergy.

The Satellite Application Facility on #ClimateMonitoring (#EUMETSAT's #CMSAF) has released a new #ClimateData record of #cloud properties from 2004 to present (resolution from 15-minute slots to monthly products):

The dataset is derived from intercalibrated measurements of the #SEVIRI sensor onboard #METEOSAT second generation (MSG) #satellites.

I am a #ClimateScientist at Germany’s national meteorological service (#DWD).

I am head of the department “#hydrometeorology”. We provide hydrometeorological products & services, esp. for #hydrology & #WaterManagement in #Germany, incl. assessments of #ExtremeEvents, #ClimateChange, etc.

The dep. hosts the 'Global #Precipitation #Climatology Centre' (#GPCC) & the Satellite Application Facility on #ClimateMonitoring (#CMSAF).

BTW - are there any other #EUMETSAT people on here? We had a joint #EO work shop in #PolarRES with #ESA + Eumetsat #CMSAF - I was super impressed with the datasets they have curated for #Climate Modellers like me!
