Gave two presentations at #CNU31 today. Both "What a Planner Learned By Developing Missing Middle Housing" and "Retrofitting Strip Malls" are now live at https://westnorth.com/
I'm not sure if #cnu31 was trying to manufacture case studies for the #StrongTowns crash analysis studio here, or if I misunderstood the assignment. But the other light rail line isn't any closer to me, and the other walking routes I see involve freeway crossings?
Looks like I'm catching the bus back.
Thanks @kathhayhoe for joining #cnu31 to talk climate and urbanism - and for pulling the super important question of fear and hope out of downvote oblivion!
NEW VIDEO ALERT Here's Part One of CNU.Charlotte's BODs Tour led by Scott Curry w/ Kittelson & Associates and Kevin Kennedy w/ CLUCK Design Collaborative. It includes a look at the development & growth along the beloved Rail Trail CLT. Enjoy! #CNU31

Also, I highly encourage y'all to consider attending the Strong Towns National gathering in addition to the #cnu31 https://www.strongtowns.org/national-gathering
I registered for the #StrongTowns National Gathering and #CNU31 today. I'm looking forward to seeing all of my #CNU friends in Charlotte at the end of may. It is by far the best collection of urbanists every year. (Ok, I've never been to Seaside, so my points of comparison aren't exhaustive, but it's a great gathering nonetheless.) I hope to see everyone there. https://www.cnu.org/cnu31

I'm excited for #CNU31 next year. I love the new, more participatory direction #CNU is going for the next Congress. One piece of feedback I had after CNU30 was they needed a more diverse set of speakers & that CNU needs to be handed off to a new generation. It looks like they're implementing that feedback. https://www.cnu.org/publicsquare/2022/11/21/we%E2%80%99re-building-something-new-cnu-31
