#Lithium-#Batteries are absurdly expensive by their sheer nature - despite the fact that they are peak #UnfairTrade - espechally in terms of #Cobalt.
They wpuld.be cheaper if they were #Methanol #FuelCells and even cheaper if the Economies of Scale would hit that similar.to #Gasoline and #Diesel...

Also there are no cheap electric cars for the same reason.
Ideally noone would need a car, but also there's a lack of small #PersonalLightVehicles inloeu of #SuperUselessVehicles.

I just finished Cobalt Red by Siddharth Kara. It tells the story of the horrible conditions in which cobalt miners work in the Congo. Cobalt is used in the batteries of all the rechargeable devices that power our economy. People at every level are complicit in the exploitation of these and so many other workers.
