In the old days, the people of Dhünn fetched their water from a deep well.
This well was so deep that its architects claimed that they had heard a cockerel crowing "in the other world". Thus, the well must have gone straight through the entire earth. However, no fire was sensed within the well.

There are many caves in the Löcherberg mountain near Langenorla. At night, a cockerel can be heard crowing within that mountain. It always crows nine times, and later repeats this sequence three times.

@jordanbhx also don’t move into small rural villages and complain about the following:
Church bells
Cocks crowing
Cows mooing
Dung on the roads
It’s ok to complain though when someone’s cow escapes because it’s frightened by church bells, runs round the village mooing (ideally with a washing-line full of clothes wrapped round its horns) and then craps in the road when startled by a cock. Most of this happened in my last village.
